Lititz Trinity EC Church
TRINITY’S VISION
May/June 2009
To All Trinity E. C. Church Members:
When the parking lot was approved for construction by the Borough of Lititz, the Physical Planning and Development Committee started to concentrate on our facility, seeking to address current needs as well as growth opportunities. The Committee has been working with the Architectural Firm of Beers & Hoffman and Horst Construction. The design/build concept helps in the development of any construction plans; this entails working with the architect and the builder as a team. A study was conducted regarding the current and future activities of Trinity. This study was needed in order to provide as much information in order to develop changes to the existing facility and any proposed new addition.
In casting the vision for needs and growth it is now time to present the plans to the Congregation. The Committee felt it important to provide as much documentation as possible prior to the Congregational meeting. This meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 10:45 AM following the Morning Worship Service and the Parking Lot Dedication.
The material on the following pages relates to the physical vision that is being cast for Trinity. Provided are detailed floor plans of proposed changes to our existing facility and the new additions along with a rendering of the Church with the proposed additions on E. Orange Street.
Representatives from Beers & Hoffman and Horst Construction will be present to provide as much information as possible regarding the proposed floor plans of the existing facility and new additions. Also, to be addressed will be the assessment of the physical condition of the exterior of the Church, the Educational building and the stain glass windows. Our present facility was built in 1935-36 and the educational wing in 1969. Horst Construction did an extensive interior/exterior physical evaluation of the buildings. Nothing major has been done to these buildings with the exception of cosmetic changes, since they were built.
The following financial information is being provided, however, more accurate figures will be given at the Congregational meeting:
Phase One - Exterior Cost to Refurbish Existing Church and Educational Building including the Stain Glass Windows: $278,219.
Phase Two - Projected Cost to Remodel Interior of Existing Church and Educational Building plus New Addition including Elevator: $2,713,130.
Phase Three – Projected Cost of a Multi Purpose Center: $2,899,500.
Along with the presentation, the Finance Committee will outline a financial plan, to be known as a Stewardship Campaign that will be unveiled in September of this year.
Respectfully,
Physical Planning and Development Committee NEXT
